CHAPTER 2- Applying Decimals

Monday:     Complete projects from Friday.  Students will go to distant learning lab today with Mrs. Triplett to complete activities using logic and representing decimals.  s.p.i.- 6.5.7;6.5.4
HOMEWORK:    NONE.

Tuesday:      Continue and Complete M&M Project.  Later, class will begin Chapter 2, lesson 1:  Comparing and Ordering Decimals in number sentences and on number lines, along with expressing decimals in standard, word, and expanded form.  Text reference pages 44-46.  s.p.i.- 7.1.4
HOMEWORK:    page 46 #s 16 - 25.

Wednesday:      Review homework.  Continue practice with writing and expressing decimals in different forms, as well as, comparing and ordering decimals using the dry erase boards.  In lesson 2,  Students will learn to round decimals to an appointed place value.  Text reference pages 47 -49.   SPI- 6.1.1; 6.1.3; 6.1.5; 7.1.4; 7.1.9
HOMEWORK:    none

Thursday:      Class will continue review lesson 2 of Chapter 2 using dry erase boards.    Later in lesson 3, students will learn to estimate sums, differences, products, and quotients with decimals.    Text reference pages 51 - 53.

HOMEWORK:      Page 81 #s 16 - 27.

Friday:       Class review homrework and estimating decimals with a team Jeopardy challenge for  practice of lessons 1 - 3.  Later, students will multiply decimals in lesson 4 of chapter 2. SPI- 6.1.2; 6.1.8; 7.1.2; 7.1.9
HOMEWORK:      Study lessons 1 - 3.  Possible Quiz on Monday.

UpComing Events/Reminders

- Chapter 2 has 9 lessons.  Will complete this chapter in the next couple of weeks.  Test will be Friday, Nov. 2th.  No calculators.

- Calculators came on Monday and were passed out.  Please use a sharpie to write your name on back of calculator and cover.  To refund or exchanges for damage done to your calculator once it was given to you.

- Quarter 2 grading period has begun.  Last weeks graded papers and test will apply to this quarter.  Homework starts at 100 again.
