CHAPTER 2- Applying Decimals
(7th grade textbook)
Monday: In lesson 3, students will recall estimating sums, differences, products, and quotients of decimals using rounding, front-end estimation, and clustering. Students will practice using dry erase boards and complete a graded activity as an evaluation of lesson . s.p.i.- 7.1.9
HOMEWORK: page 571 lesson 2-3 #s 2 - 14 even only.
Tuesday: Continue review of estimation. Later, students will learn to multiply decimals in lesson 4 and multiply decimals using the powers of ten in lesson 5. Students will use dry erase boards for practice. Text reference pages 56-58 and 61-63. s.p.i.- 7.1.9; 7.1.2; 7.1.3
HOMEWORK: pages 81 -82 #s 28 - 36. Write the problems.
Wednesday: Review homework. Continue practice with multiplying decimals and powers of ten. Later in lesson 3B , students will solve problems by determining reasonable answers. Text reference page 54-55. SPI- 7.1.9; 7.1.2; 7.1.3
HOMEWORK: none
Thursday: Class will review lessons 1 - 5. Students will take a short quiz of lessons after review. Later, work with a partner to complete problem-solving activity from page 55. Afterwards, Students recall dividing decimals. SPI- 7.1.9; 7.1.2; 7.1.3
HOMEWORK: Page 82 #s 37 - 42.
Friday: Class review homework and continue to practice with dividing decimals using dry erase boards. PI- 6.1.2; 6.1.8; 7.1.2; 7.1.9
