CHAPTER 3- Adding and Subtracting Decimals

CHAPTER 3 TEST IS TUESDAY, OCT. 30TH

Monday:     REVIEW lessons 1 through 3.  Students will use journal notes to take Mid-Chapter 3 Test.  Later, Classes will estimate sums and differences of decimals in lesson 4 using rounding, front-end estimation, and clustering.  Text reference pages 116 - 118.  s.p.i.- 6.1.8
HOMEWORK:    page 600 lesson 3-4 #s 2 - 18 even only.

Tuesday:      Continue review of estimating sum and differences with practice problems using dry erase boards.  In final lesson 5, students will add and subtract decimals.  Text reference pages 121 - 123.  s.p.i.- 6.1.8; 6.1.9
HOMEWORK:    page600 lesson 3-5 #s 2 - 12 EVEN ONLY.

Wednesday:      Review homework.  Continue practice of adding and subtracting decimals using the dry erase boards.  In lesson 3-5b, students will learn to solve problems by choosing an appropriate method of computation.  Text reference pages 125 - 126.   SPI- 6.1.7; 6.1.8; 6.1.9
HOMEWORK:    none

Thursday:       Classes will take quiz over lessons 4 and 5 of chapter 3.  Afterwards, partners will work to complete review and problem-solving activity from pages 130 - 131.   SPI- 6.1.7; 6.1.9; 6.1.5; 6.1.4, 6.1.8
HOMEWORK:      Practice Test; page 129 #s 3 - 25.

Friday:       Classes review homrework and chapter to prepare for test.  Review Standardized Test Practice from page 130-31 . SPI- 6.1.1; 6.1.3; 6.1.5; 6.1.4, 6.1.8
HOMEWORK:      Study for  Chapter 3 Test on Tuesday

UpComing Events/Reminders

- Chapter 3 has only 5 lessons.  Will complete this chapter next week and the Test will be Tuesday, Oct. 30th.  No calculators.
