CHAPTER 5- Integers

Monday: Students will take field trip to IMAX THEATRE. No math today. HOMEWORK: none.

Tuesday: Students will learn to read and write integers and to find the opposite and absolute value of an integer in lesson 1 of chapter 5. Text reference pages 184 - 86. In lesson 2, students will compare and and order integers. Pages 188-89 s.p.i.- 7.1.11, 7.1.3, 7.1.4
HOMEWORK: page 580 lessons 1 & 2 #s 2 - 12 even only for ea.

Wednesday: Review homework and lessons 1 & 2. Continue practice with integers using dry erase boards. Groups will complete mindjogger game and test from yesterday. SPI- 7.1.11, 7.1.3, 7.1.4
HOMEWORK: none

Thursday: Class learn to graph points on a coordinate plane in lesson 3. Students will learn the 4 quadrants and axis signs for each. Text reference pages 191-94. SPI- 7..1.11, 7.1.3, 7.1.4, 7.3.5; 7.4.2 HOMEWORK: Page 581 lesson 5-3 #s 1 - 17

Friday: Class review homework and continue practice of lessons 1 - 3. In lessons 4 & 5, students will learn to add and subract integers using color tokens. Hands on Activity will follow. s.p.i- 7.1.5
