CHAPTER 5- Fractions and Decimals

November 19 and 20.
Monday: Compete and Review Chapter 4 Test. In preview of Chapter 5, students will practice with three methods of finding the GCF: making a list, prime factorization, and L-Box.

Tuesday: Students will review homework. Game activity Day.

November 26 - 30.
Monday: Continue practice of finding the GCF in lesson 1. Text reference pages 177 - 179.
HOMEWORK: page 603 lesson 5-1 #s 10 - 22 even

Tuesday: Students will review homework and continue with lesson 2. Students will learn to express fractions in simplest form. Text reference pages 182- 185.
HOMEWORK: page 603 lesson 5-2 #s 10 - 26 even

Wednesday: Review homework. In lesson 3, classes will learn to write mixed numbers as improper fractions and vice versa. Text reference pages 186 - 189.
HOMEWORK: none

Thursday: Class will continue practice of changing fractions using dry erase boards. In lesson 4a, students willsolve problems by making an organized list. Text reference pages 192 - 93. PI- 6.1.2,5,9
HOMEWORK: Page 603 lesson 5-3 #s 6 - 24 even

Friday: Classes review homework and lessons 1-4a. Students will take mid-chapter quiz on lessons 1 -4a on Monday. Later in class, students will learn to find the LCM using the L-Box method.
