CHAPTER 5- Fractions and Decimals
(6th grade textbook)
Chapter Test is Next Week!!

Week of December 3 - 7

Monday: Review from Friday of lessons 1, 2, & 4 using the L-Box method for finding the GCF, Simplest Form, and LCM. Text reference pp. 177-78; pp. 182-83; pp.194-95. Later, students will take a cumulative review of chapters 1 - 5 covered in the 7th grade text. Text reference pages 192 - 193.
HOMEWORK: pp. 210 -11 #s 8 - 18 even and 30 - 34 even only.

Tuesday: Students will review homework and complete enrichment activities with Mrs. Triplett. Students will recall how to convert mixed numbers to improper fractions and vis-versa in lesson 3 of chapter 5. Text reference pages 187 - 189.
HOMEWORK: p. 190 #s 3 - 20 or TBA by Mrs. Triplett

Wednesday: Review homework and later students will take Mid- Chapter Quiz of lessons 1 -3 in Chapter 5. If time allows, students will solve problems by making an organized list in lesson 5-4A. Text reference pages 192 - 93.
HOMEWORK: none

Thursday: Review problem solving and LCM using L-Box. Students will complete an LCM activity using calculators. Later, teams will play GCF & LCM Spin Off from page 191.
HOMEWORK: none

Friday: Classes will review homework and process of comparing and ordering fractions. Later, students will take a practice End of the Sixth grade year THINK LINK test. We will review the results on Monday. On Wednesday, Dec. 18th students will take the real assessment Online. Student results of test will be sent home the week back from Winter Break.

We are now working in a different math book. This Chapter 5 is from the 6th grade text. Chapters and Skills to come.
Ch. 5 : Patterns, Fractions, Ratios
Ch. 6 : Adding and Subtracting Fractions
Ch. 7 : Multiplying and Dividing Fractions

Chapter 5 Test is NEXT Friday, December 14th.

Our 2nd Math Think Link Test is Wed., December 18th.
We are going to begin contructing our mathematically sound Pyramids in January. We will be needing objects from home. Be on the look out for the list.
