CHAPTER 6- Adding & Subtracting Fractions

Chapter Test is Next Week!!

Week of January 7 - 11

Monday:     Review Chapter 6 lessons 1 - 3, estimating fractions and like denominators, from before winter break.   Text reference pages 219 - 231. Practice with dry erase and online self-checks.   Absent students will make up THINK LINK TEST today.
HOMEWORK:    pp. 248 -  49 #s 8 - 28 even only.

Tuesday:      Students will review homework and complete enrichment activities with Mrs. Triplett.  Students will recall how estimate fractions, estimate sums and differences with fractions and mixed numbers.  Later, class will review THINK LINK TEST.
HOMEWORK:    p. 230 #s 3 - 16 or TBA by Mrs. Triplett

Wednesday:      Review homework and later students will take Mid- Chapter Quiz of lessons 1 -3 in Chapter 6.  If time allows, students will add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators in lesson 4.  Text reference pages 235 - 37. Think Link test results will come home today.
HOMEWORK:    NONE

Thursday:      Review lesson 4: adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like and unlike numbers.  Later, students will add and subtract mixed number in lesson 5 with like and unlike denominators.     Text reference pages 240 - 243.
HOMEWORK:      NONE

Friday:       Classes will review homework and continue practice of lesson 5 using online practice and dry erase boards. Possible graded activity on lessons 4 & 5. If time allows,  students will preview lesson 6, subtracting mixed numbers with renaming by writing journal notes and examples. Text reference pages 244-45.
