CHAPTER 6- Adding & Subtracting Fractions

Chapter Test is Next Week!!
REGULAR MATH
Week of January 14 - 18

Monday:     Review lesson 4: adding and subtracting fractions unlike denominators.  Later, students will add and subtract mixed number in lesson 5 with like and unlike denominators.     Text reference pages 240 - 243.  Journal notes and examples will be provided.
HOMEWORK:    pp. 606 lesson 6-4 #s 8 - 28 even only.

Tuesday:      Classes will review homework and continue practice of adding and subtracting mixed numbers with unlike denominators.  Students will use dry erase boards to practice lessons 4 & 5. Text reference pages 240-243.
HOMEWORK:    p. 606 lesson 6-5 #s 8 - 28 even only.

Wednesday:   Classes will review homework and continue practice with  sums and differences.  Classes will complete graded actvity on lessons 4 & 5 as a comprehension check.  Students will begin think link practice probes and work on pyramids.
HOMEWORK:    NONE

Thursday:    In final lesson 6, students will learn to subtract mixed numbers by renaming. Journal notes and examples will be provided. Text reference pages 244-47.
HOMEWORK:    page 607 lesson 6-6 #s 2 - 20 even only.

Friday:   Review Chapter 6 lesson 6 notes with more examples.  Students will practice renaming whole numbers as improper fractions and a renamed Mixed Numbers.  Students will use dry erase boards to practice solving problems.  Text reference page 246.
