CHAPTER 5- Fractions and Decimals

November 19 and 20.
Monday: Compete and Review Chapter 4 Test. In preview of Chapter 5, students will practice with three methods of finding the GCF: making a list, prime factorization, and L-Box.

Tuesday: Students will review homework. Game activity Day.

Wednesday: Review homework. In lesson 3, classes will learn to write mixed numbers as improper fractions and vice versa. Text reference pages 186 - 189.

Thursday: Class will continue practice of changing fractions using dry erase boards. In lesson 4a, students willsolve problems by making an organized list. Text reference pages 192 - 93. PI- 6.1.2,5,9

Tuesday:      Continue and Complete M&M Project.  Later, class will begin Chapter 2, lesson 1:  Comparing and Ordering Decimals in number sentences and on number lines, along with expressing decimals in standard, word, and expanded form.  Text reference pages 44-46.  s.p.i.- 7.1.4

- Calculators came on Monday and were passed out.  Please use a sharpie to write your name on back of calculator and cover.  To refund or exchanges for damage done to your calculator once it was given to you.

- Quarter 2 grading period has begun.  Last weeks graded papers and test will apply to this quarter.  Homework starts at 100 again.
